Larceny and Shoplifting
Shoplifting, also known as larceny is the theft of any object to include pick pocketing, purse snatching, or stealing funds from a business.
If convicted of shoplifting, the penalty can carry not only the possibility of a permanent mark on your record, but also the possibility of jail time, fines, probation community work hours, restitution, and possibly litigation. A conviction can stay on your permanent record as well as affect your eligibility for certain housing programs, limit your employment opportunities, and can damage or even result in the revocation of security clearances.
